Hi, my husband and I are planning a trip to Egypt in late September - early October (he is currently working in the middle east). We are interested in birding sites we could access without being part of a tour, as well as tips on the logistics of getting around and things like that (we're consulting various travel guides, but there isn't a lot explaining how to view birds there!)
We moderately experienced birders/travellers (semi-backpacker is our travel "style"), but I know that every new country/region offers its own challenges so we're very interested in hearing from people who have experience in making arrangements and birding in that part of the world.
We don't really have any "target" species per-se, although I admit it would be really keen to see some Bee-eaters. Is there any place where they can be reliably seen in Egypt during those months?
