On the Outer Hebrides yday we saw this bird. Currently investigating falconary situation, but it is a juvenile Saker-type (with no apprent leg attachments)
Coverts on underwing were quite pallid, not giving as much as a contrast with the remiges as I might hace expected on a Saker. How variable is this?
Oddhow these juvenles 'big falcons' always turn up in runs of eastern migrants.......coincidence?
Any thoughts re ID most welcome.
