I wonder if anyone could help with the idnetification of this bit of excrement. My cousin, who has asked me to put it online for id, thinks it can only be of mammallian origin, and i agree.

Colin; If that proved to be squirrel? I'd eat it!
No. I've been back here, most nights now, looking for a response and looking at It.
That looks, to me, like some creature that's been feeding on that ....e people feed Dogs, out of a greasy sack. " Complete Diet ", I believe they sell it as?
Look at it. There's no sign of hair, feather or bone. It's uniform in colour and ~ apparent ~ consistency. Like something spewed out of a machine.
Most mustalid droppings are black, long, twisted and dry / firm. Rodents are more or less 'bomb' shaped, and multiple.
That stuff's come out of a creature which has fed on processed ..... Badgers and foxes pick up such rubbish, these days, in towns. Size and form doesn't seem right though, for either. Except, maybe; A fox cub fed on " Kibble "? Be bang on for that.
I just wish the OP would get back to us and answer some questions

Looks like the stuff our neighbours' cats leave on our lawn every day
