Amir Ben Dov photographed this interesting snipe on the 26th October in northern Jordan Valley, Israel. To me the bird looks like Pintail/Sweinhoe's Snipe Due to combination of facial pattern (which are not exclusive but supportive), Lower Scapulars pattern which have equal width edges (which are really thin as well), median coverts looks good, and some flight features: it seems the bird has goo toes projections, No white trailing edge, seems like all dark coverts from below and wings looks pretty round. Beside that the bill base looks broad. The head shape too remind me the head shapes of 5 birds I have seen in Israel between 1998-2003 with tall forehead and squarish shape.
Will be happy to receive some opinions.
