I hope to learn more about the birds I see in my area. I love to garden, and I love to watch all the birds that come into my yard. I have many trees, and many cedar and evergreen as well as pear, and maple, and yews. This brings many birds who stay all winter in my yard. They give me much pleasure, especially the hummingbirds. This year though I have a bird I cannot find in any of my books. It is puzzling. Maybe someone here can help.
It is the size of a robin, maybe a little larger, a grey green color, with white spots all over it. The flock is large, and they are eating the berries in my pear tree. They have a long beak and an orange eye. I have tired to get a picture but they are pretty skittish. I have never seen this bird before. It does resemble a thrasher. But they would be a long way off from their habitat.
