An odd one
A friend is asking me to help them identify a bird they saw in an overgrown garden in Great Ellingham, Norfolk (a few miles from Attleborough).
She has described it as Shiny black all over with a hint of red on the side of the bird but towards the underside rather than the top side.
She also said it was the size of a woodpecker and was definately a passerine which rules out gamebirds, B.O.P and water birds.
I've triple checked my guides and nothing but a black redstart sticks out but the habitat is totally wrong.
Any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Not really serious - Cowbird?

As a non birdwatcher i'd say she will have associated it to the only one she'll have heard of which is usually the Great Spotted.
