This is my first post on Surfbirds Bird forums. I'm from Venice, Florida and a member of Venice Area Audubon Society, Sarasota Audubon Society, and Manatee County Audubon Society.
I led a field trip this morning for Venice Area Audubon to the Celery Fields in Sarasota and despite a light drizzle we managed 52 species, highlights included Bald Eagle, Northern Harrier, Roseate Spoonbill, Limpkin, and Sandhill Crane.
Last week I led an Audubon group to Guyana and the highlight was seeing an immature Harpy Eagle on the nest near Surama Eco-Lodge. I added 109 Lifers on that trip, many great birds, but the Harpy Eagle was my golden bird.
I would like to see Surfbirds add a Guyana Life List to their South America Listings. Guyana is trying very hard to become an eco-tourism destination, I would like to see them show up on Surfbirds radar.
