Yesterday and today, there has been a small flock of (up to 24 - 13 ads and 11 1-ws) Pale-bellied Brent Geese on Reydon Marshes (400m from my home). They're associating at times with Canada Geese, White-fronts and 15 Dark-bellied Brents, and are clearly part of an influx onto the east coast. The last such big influx in Suffolk was in 1996, when there were larger numbers than this, but this is the best flock I have seen on my local patch.
I am not sure how many there have been at other sites, or even in Holland, but it would be interesting to know.
The flock of 290+ Whitefronts is also the largest for a while.
