Hello from snowy and cold northern MN. I live north of Duluth MN. Just back from a week in Mexico near Puerta Vallarta and South. Some great weather and birds. Would highly recommend the Casa Iguana Hotel as a place to stay for birdwatchers. Good gardens and birding areas close by. The newer Botanical gardens are not too far either. Saw over 130 species including many endemics including Yellow-winged Cacique, Mexican Hermit, Rufous Capped Mot Mot, Rusty-crowned Ground sparrow, and more. Am now home waiting for my next adventure to the Philippines with Bird Tour Asia. There has been a late cancellation for this tour and there is one spot available. Check Bird tour asia website for details.
Am home now watching a northern shrike hunt shrews under the feeders in the snow.
All for now
