Default Take a free sea-birding cruise out of Bridlington

The RSPB have kindly offered surfbirds two free tickets to join them on one of their sea-birding cruises out of Bridlington in 2011. If you enjoy photographing seabirds and are happy to write up and illustrate a trip report for surfbirds we'll happily pass the tickets (one or both) on to you. Just drop us a line at enquiries(AT) and we'll liaise with the RSPB to get the tickets to you.

Information about the 2011 cruises from the RSPB as follows:

The 2011 GANNET AND PUFFIN cruises will run on the following dates:

    Saturday 7 May at 4.00pm
    Sunday 8 May at 9.30am
    Saturday 14 May at 11.00am
    Saturday 28 May at 4.00pm
    Saturday 11 June at 9.30am
    Saturday 18 June at 4.30pm
    Saturday 25 June at 9.30am
    Sunday 26 June at 9.30am
    Saturday 2 July at 4.00pm
    Saturday 9 July at 9.00am
    Sunday 10 July at 9.30am
    Saturday 16 July at 4.30pm

Plus two FAMILY GANNET AND PUFFIN cruises on:

    Saturday 29 May at 4.00pm
    Saturday 4 June at 4.00pm

These cruises will be shorter, at about 2.5 hours, and will be aimed specifically at children and their families, including children's quizzes, special commentary and family competitions.

The 2011 SKUA AND SHEARWATER cruises will all leave at 9.00am on the following dates:

    Sunday 4 September
    Saturday 10 September
    Saturday 17 September
    Sunday 18 September
    Sunday 2 October
    Sunday 9 October

We are also introducing a new cruise, the BEST OF BOTH cruise, that will take place on:

    Saturday 27 August at 9.00am.

This will sail around the Flamborough headland up to the 400ft high Bempton Cliffs to view the nesting gannets and their chicks, and then sail out to sea to watch for migrating seabirds. If this is successful, we will run more of these in future years.

All the cruises take place aboard the Yorkshire Belle, which leaves from the North Pier at Bridlington Harbour.
