    Default Birds of Saudi Arabia

New Blog website (www.birdsofsaudiarabia.com) for birds of Saudi Arabia (mainly Dhahran, Eastern Province).

The site should be of interest to anyone interested in birds of the Middle East and migration (what is passing through the area and in what numbers). There will be good photos of rare or scarce bird species / sub-species that may turn up in the UK and Europe to view.

    Cheers

New photos of Little Ringed Plover feigning injury to distract attention from probable nest or young.

    Default A few Late Migrants

Even though it is almost the end of June there are still a few late migrants passing through. Check the updated website for this and much more (including Blubber Jellyfish etc).

Default Rufous-tailed Scrub Robin - Two different species?

I have posted a note regarding the issue raised by Lee Evans (myster photo thread here on Surfbirds). The note includes a number of other photographs of Rufous-tailed Scrub Robin showing the plumage features pointed out by Lee in his post stating that he treats the birds as two seperate species - Eastern Bushchat and Western Bushchat.
