    Default Manas Wildlife Sanctuary on the road to recovery

    Manas Wildlife Sanctuary in the eastern Himalaya foothills of India has been removed from the List of World Heritage in Danger, following the advice of IUCN.

    More info on Manas (and other Indian sites) is at Sumit Sen's excellent site:

    The area is now safe to visit and is yet another wonderful site in North-east India along with Eaglenest, Nagaland, Mishmi, Kaziranga etc. The only constraint would be time - you could spend months in each place and not get bored.
