The adult SANDHILL CRANE was still present today and showing well. The Boyton villagers have been extremely accomodating, especially considering being besieged by over 700 birders since Sunday lunchtime

Special parking arrangements have been very kindly provided by the villagers and they ask everyone to park at the village hall/church and overflow sites in return for a token donation of 1 per person.

From the village, walk down Mill Lane towards Boyton Hall Farm and after 0.75 miles and at the end of the right hand wood, take the footpath towards the sea wall. Today, the Sandhill was commuting between the large tilled fields immediately to the SE of the wood and to the field with cattle east of the Hollesley Youth Detention Centre a mile to the south along the sea wall.

There are some nice WILLOW EMERALD DAMSELFLIES feeding on the Oaks and Sycamores at the far end of the wood and just 20 minutes away, a beuatiful adult DOTTEREL with 318 European Golden Plovers at Levington Creek
