1st of October, 2011 I observed a curious Plover in the lagoons of Black-Sea (Romania), close to the huge Sinoe lake, on a heavily grazed field.
I saw it only short time and managed to take some pictures as well.
Feeds together with two Eurasian Golden Plovers therefore I was able to compare directly to this species.
Observations: greyish upper parts, lacks of yellow on the breast, longer neck, very thin bill, similar size. One of the picture is poorly visible the underwing colors. While the Golden Plovers has very white reflection, this bird has more greyish, and suggest to me a fulva/dominica species..??
From the pictures is visible the primary projection, length of legs and the head markings as well. Despite all these informations is not enough clear to me what kind species I observed
Your experience probably will be crucial for the right ID. Thank you in advance!
