Yesterday,,whilst walking Yarmouth reed beds we spotted this kestrel on the power cables,,took a few shots and then went over to the hedges to just hang around and see what popped up.
The Kestrel then decided to give Brian and I a demonstration of flying.
We stood in awe as this bird flew around us,,twisting and turning.
She was never more than 70 feet away from us as she gave her display.
I gave up trying to picture her because the 400mm prime could'nt keep focus on this bird as she sped around us. I just watched.
Then,,to my utter amazement,,she flew right over our heads and hovered looking down at us. NOT 15 feet above our heads,,,she hovered for about 5 seconds then went off into the distance.
We stood and looked at each other like a pair of slack jawed idiots.,,then we grinned at each other,,both understanding what a wonderful spectacle of nature we had just witnessed.
Can't our world be wonderful sometimes..
