According to the Surfbirds World List, the top world listers have updated their lists to September or November 2011 and are approaching 9000, which is an amazing reflection of dedication - http://surfbirds.com/cgi-bin/surfbir...l=0&highVal=49
Tom Gullick is just 65 away on 8935; Jon Hornbuckle is 100 back on 8830; Hugh Buck on 8840.
A couple of things cross my mind. Firstly, I wonder what their 9000th species might be (and what 'holes' they have to fill); secondly, in this economic climate of increased fuel costs, etc., will such totals be reached by those (like me) that are waaay back in the listings?
I just hope that Tom will keep us informed when he is getting close. Good luck to them all.
