Caspian Gull , Derbyshire, Ogston Reservoir, 15/08/2020
A juvenile Caspian Gull is still an unusual sight in Britain and worthy of attention. The pallid overall appearance with simple feather patterns together with classic Caspian structure make this a very attractive young gull. Already sporting many second generation mantle and scapular feathers (plus the odd wing covert) this bird will moult to a more familiar first winter plumage. A corker!
