Common and widespread The most abundant vulture, commonly seen in both the east and western lowlands and at higher altitudes. Highest counts: 45+ Rio Napo 25th Nov.

Generally scarce and only encountered in the lowlands of the east.

Various species were found with Blue-tailed Whiptails in the Amazon to presumed Anole species at Rio Palenque. The numbers were greater in the dryer lowlands with many being found in the arid areas near some of the salt pans.

5th Dec Rio Palenque: 3 or more large Iguanas at this reserve were probably this species.

24th to 27th Nov La Selva: This huge a beautiful butterfly was occasionally encountered along
the various forest trails

though the Tandayapa Valley and the Pacific Lowlands had their fair share of additional

Firme Forest with several large spiders seen fleeing the scene.

Found in the Amazon up and close encounters with this inch long ant were most likely at the Canopy Platform

6th Dec MantaRaya Lodge: a not very large one was on the steps outside DK and BB room. I say not large as Tarantulas go but still big enough that you wouldnt want it within a hundred metres of you.
