This was a two week holiday with my wife, I had booked a guide over the internet for the first 5 days. The rest of the holiday would be spent relaxing and birding in the hotel grounds, apart from one day, we booked the Roots trip which we both enjoyed very much. This was my second visit to the Gambia, last year I went with a tour company. Although we had a big list over 7 days, I enjoyed this holiday even more as I had time to digest what I had seen and photograph where possible.
Our guide, Ebrima Barry, was excellent with bird calls, very enthusiastic himself and had lots of patience while I took photographs. My wife found him very kind and considerate. I cannot recommend Ebrima Barry highly enough.
