5:30am in the morning, we are heading for Brumbun Bay - the last habitat for the Bali Starling. I am a birdwatching guide in Bali Barat National Park and expert on birds in the oriental bird region.

I have brought some guests from Australia. We are heading by boat towards brumbun... an exciting journey. Several tern species; common tern, black-naped tern, great crested tern, brown booby... and finally we land on the white sand and surprisingly we see two birds Great Thick-knee... truly remarkable birds .. A rare bird in Bali Barat national park.

Not far from the location of Great Thick-knee, we see a group of Pink-necked Green Pigeons and Grey-checked Green Pigeon. Also Mangrove White-eye, Common Iora, Zebra Dove, Peaceful Dove, Spotted Dove, Island Collared Dove, Collared Kingfisher, Sacred Kingfisher, Small Blue Kingfisher, Savannah Nightjar...

We continue to travel upwards savanna region, hoping to find some Bali Starling... See the cliff edge while occasionally hear the birds singing around the valley of Bali Starlings and it's absolutely right, passing a pair of Bali starling moving towards savannah .. very lucky to see the starling fly freely in the nature. From a distance with a loud audible noise from the distance, a loud noise coming from Black-winged Starling. This is an endemic bird of Java and Bali ...lucky to see a group of Black-winged Starling perched above the white bark Acacia tree. Other birds we found, Richard's Pipit, Greater Coucal, Lesser Coucal, Fulvous-breasted Woodpecker, White-shouldered Triller, Small Minivet, Great Tit, Yellow-vented Bulbul, Java Sparrow, Green Jungle Fowl, Black-thighed Falconet, Streaked Weaver, Pied Ffantail, Bar-winged Prinia, Black Drongo, Ashy Drongo, Golden-backed Woodpecker, Liniated Barbet, Black-naped Oriole, Coppersmith Barbet, Grey-rumped Tree Swift, Wood Swallow, Serpent Crested Eagle, White- bellied Sea Eagle, Changeable Hawk-eagle, and one new bird for me Oriental Hobby... birdwatching very lucky this time.

We finally end the birdwatching at gung peninsula. This area is good to see waders... we saw Lesser Adjuntant, Whimbrel, Little Curlew, Terek Sandpiper, Common Sandpiper, Great-billed Heron, Javan Pond Heron, Striated Heron, Woolly-necked Stork, Small Blue Kingfisher, Sacred Kingfisher, Collared Kingfisher, Great Crested Tern. Bird watching trip was exceptional. Great Birding...
