Bangkok has established itself as, perhaps, the easiest place in the world to see Spoon-billed Sandpiper (Eurynorhynchus pygmaeus). If there is one birding map you'll need this winter, then this is the one. Many thanks to Nick Moran for crafting this map for surfbirders.

If you're heading east this winter, don't forget this one!

"I've just returned from Thailand where I spent the New Year at Khok Kfam salt-pans. Local guide Mr. Tii reports that 2 Spoon-billed Sandpipers have over-wintered. I saw one on both days. I attach a map of the main sites at Khok Kfam. Hope its useful."
