Surfbirds Share A Photo

Kidney spot ladybird , Oregon, USA, Newberg, 4-21-2016

This inverted ladybug landed on my son's shirt while he was outside in the back yard. Near as I can tell it is a Kidney Spot Ladybird, but it has a black underside (all descriptions say it should be orange on the underside) with a very black shell and two distinct red spots on the wing casings. It was totally black otherwise, no white eye markings or anything like that. About 1/3 of an inch in length. All the descriptions say this bug lives in England, but we live in Oregon in the US! This photo was taken on April 21, 2016 using my iPhone camera.
